The Fast Track course is best for individuals with substantial experience in maritime environments, especially in aspects like tidal heights, IRPCS, and Meteorology. It is also a perfect fit for those who have completed their Day Skipper but need to refresh their skills due to underuse.

For those unfamiliar with the above aspects or have recently completed their Day Skipper and are gaining experience, the RYA Day Skipper or RYA Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster Offshore Course is recommended instead.

Course Benefits

The RYA Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster Offshore Theory certificate is an essential precursor for the practical assessments. With the full Yachtmaster Offshore qualification, students can charter a yacht, reduce insurance premiums, or even work at sea up to 150 miles from the shore. It’s ideal for experienced skippers looking to refine their skills and broaden their maritime horizons.

Course Delivery

The course is delivered through text and video presentations, with each module broken into engaging lessons and knowledge checks for knowledge reinforcement. Students complete module assessments, which consist of official RYA exercise questions, and receive personalised feedback on their progress from qualified instructors.

RYA Yachtmaster Fast Track Exam

Upon completing the coursework, we assist students in preparing for the online RYA Yachtmaster Theory exam. The exam comprises three papers and can be taken at home. Examiner feedback is provided after completion.

There are no additional exam fees unless it needs to be invigilated for commercial MCA purposes*. Our instructors are committed to coaching every student to a passing standard.

Course Outcome

After completing the online RYA Yachtmaster Fast Track Theory qualification, students gain the knowledge to navigate a motor or sailboat in day or night, and in challenging coastal and offshore environments.

Students earn the RYA Yachtmaster Shorebased certificate. To receive the full RYA Coastal Skipper or Yachtmaster qualification, students must complete a practical course or exam at a practical center of their choice.

Pricing

The Ardent Training RYA Yachtmaster Fast Track Online Theory Course costs £475, inclusive of all expenses (postage, tax, etc.).

For those needing to use the RYA Yachtmaster certificate for MCA Large Yacht qualifications, an invigilated exam may be necessary, which might incur a small additional fee payable directly to the invigilator.*

*A few students intending to use the RYA Yachtmaster certificate for the MCA Large Yacht qualifications (such as Officer of the Watch or Master 3000) may need to get their final exam invigilated. We will arrange this at the most convenient location available to you, however, as it may involve getting a third party invigilator, there may be a small additional fee to be paid directly to the invigilator.
