Ardent Sailing Ltd, trading as Ardent Training, is a trailblazing maritime education provider. Established in November 2020, Ardent Training redefines online education standards in sailing training. Pioneered by professional sailors and maritime experts, Edd and Charly Hewett, the company is headquartered in the UK but serves aspiring sailors worldwide.
Founders’ Profiles
Edd Hewett embarked on his maritime career at the age of 18, travelling to all seven continents within just three years. After landing dream roles on a cetacean research vessel and an Antarctic expedition vessel, Edd decided to share his wealth of maritime knowledge with others. This led to the establishment of Ardent Training with co-founders Charly and Charlie. Today, Edd splits his time between sailing his own boat, ‘Mipha,’ exploring remote islands, and providing online boating instruction through Ardent Training.
Charly Hewett’s love for boating took root as a young Sea Cadet on the River Thames. From warships and tall ships to whale and dolphin research and Antarctic expedition vessels, and launching authority for the RNLI, Charly’s career has seen it all. Armed with her RYA qualifications, Charly now finds the greatest joy in sharing her sailing knowledge and experiences through Ardent Training.
